He has put an indelible mark in the social factor of the region. He still practices law and is consultant to several firms and panchayats. He represented the Akalakunnam Assembly Constituency from 1965 to 1977. He entered the co-operative field in 1961 with the establishment of Elikkulam Co-operative Bank. Till 1977 he continued to be in the Director Board. He is associated with Meenachil Agricultural Development Bank and Poovarani Co-operative Bank too. He was associated with the freedom struggle and was behind the bars for more than 15 days.
