FREEDOM FIGHTERS
 
Mr. M.Abdul Khadar Mattakompanal    
   
Famous freedom-fighter- was arrested while he was a student in 1939-40 for taking active part in the agitation for self government - served as the vice President of state Muslim Education Society.
Now he is rendering his valuable service as the president of M.E.S. Kottayam Dist. President of M.E.S college, Erumely and also as the manager of Muslim Girls H.S. Erattupetta. He was born a brave kid to his father KochuMuhammed Pattani on 7th June 1923 in Erattupetta.
 
   
Mr. C. Devasia Paramundayil

A freedom fighter, he had taken active part in the State Congress and had been arrested and he suffered prison life. He became a lawyer from 1933 and had been working. Now he is residing at Paramundayil house at Murikkumpuzha Palai.

   
     

Mr. Scaria Pulikunnel

   
At the age of over a hundred, he has witnessed three centuries,took part in freedom struggle - took lead in constructing many roads - residing with his younger son at Poovathode.
 
 

Mr. P. N. Ayyappan Nair
Born in Palakuzhy House _ took part in the struggle for freedom. Now retired life.




Mr. A. Raman Vydiar
Freedom fighter- was arrested in 1946 for conducting Jadha Violating Govt. order- was punished Rs. 1000 and Two years rigorous imprisonment - Spent one year and 15 days in prison - was released only after Independence. Now this freedom fighter is at his residence at Poonjar.


Mr. P.P.Joseph (Pappchen, Pullumackal)
This proud son of Meenachil was born in 1925. He very actively plunched in to the freedom struggle at his younger age. He became a congress 'worker' and still remains to. His contribution to freedom struggle particularly the activities he was engaged in during 1938-47 is part of history. His social commitment continues. He was instrumental in establishing The Anthinad - Pravithanam Road. (MKM Road). He is also involved in the library movement.

 
   
  Mr. V.U. John
Freedom fighter - worked along with former Minister K.T Joseph in the freedom struggle - Lived in underground as he was alleged to have took part in a conspiracy  against Sir C. P. Govt. Worked as Uzhavoor Member of Panchayath - Now works as co-passenger of communist party.
