The Thekkady Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the Western Ghats and is a place where many tourists head after visiting Palai. This sanctuary can be found in Idukki district, on the outskirts of Thekkady town. This is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in India and it is made up of evergreen forests that stretch on for acres. There are also plentiful savannah grasslands and deciduous woods that visitors can tour through.

Once you have seen the animals, the Thekkady Wildlife Sanctuary also includes the Mangaladevi Temple The Palace of the former Maharaja of Travancore is to be found on an island in the lake and the intricate murals on the walls of his hunting lodge beside the lake are also a big draw for tourists.
